  • Big School Camp provides onsite school residentials, bringing a full-size temporary campsite to your school. They deliver inspiring outdoor learning experiences and residential adventures right in the school grounds.

  • Camps are available for children aged 6–16, tailored for primary schools, secondary schools, and alternative provision education settings.

  • It’s fully inclusive, affordable (from around £25 per child for daytime; overnight from around £50), and designed to meet or exceed elements of the National Curriculum.

  • Activities typically include bushcraft, fire lighting, life skills, mental challenges team building, and more, all activities are designed to offer both mental and physical challenges, plus plenty of fun.

  • Every camp is bespoke, designed in consultation with the school to ensure activities meet specific needs and accessibility requirements.

  • Big School Camp has a robust safeguarding policy. Staff are informed of vulnerable children, know how to escalate concerns and follow professional boundaries. Sleeping arrangements, staff ratios and gender mix are carefully planned for safety and privacy.

  • Yes, comprehensive risk assessments are carried out for every activity as well as overnight camps; all risk assessments are signed off prior to the camp by the local authority.

  • Schools receive a quote within 48 hours. A 50% deposit is required to book, with the remaining balance due three months before the camp.

  • Big School Camp is “poverty-proofed”, designed to be affordable so all pupils can participate.

  • Activities exceed the National Curriculum and can align with specific subjects, like life skills, science through bushcraft or personal development linked to PE.

  • Yes, if a school lacks space or facilities, Big School Camp can offer camps at their own campsite in ancient woodland near Horsham, West Sussex.

  • In most cases we leave the food side of things down to the school, however, we can organise a registered catering team to provide food on site.

  • Onsite residentials eliminate travel needs, reduce cost and ease anxieties for students. In most cases familiar surroundings help children feel comfortable and safe.

  • Camps promote resilience, independence, teamwork, problem-solving, confidence and social skills, supporting holistic growth and well-being.

  • Big School Camp works with schools on documentation, EVOLVE forms, risk assessments, curriculum alignment and logistical planning. We cover all bases and work with you to make sure every child has the very best experience.

  • Absolutely, we offer camps specifically designed to support transition phases (e.g., moving from primary to secondary school), with team-building and bonding activities.

  • We employ the best in the business, our staff include educators, survival experts, mountaineers and sports people, all holding First Aid and enhanced DBS checks to deliver safe, high-quality experiences.
